We are often asked about how we tackle anti-social behaviour across Breckland.
Some of our solutions are quick fixes, others take a little more time.
One of those longer-term ones happened this week with a partial closure order on a residential address in Dereham town centre.
We applied to the courts to have a legal order put in place for the specific address on Beech Court which means that only the occupier and official authorities can go inside. It’s after multiple reports of anti-social behaviour from visitors including alcohol and drug misuse, fights, swearing and shouting.
We don’t take things like this lightly, we make sure we’ve tried all of the quick fixes first and ensure all sorts of support has been issued to those involved before we go to court. The order lasts for three months and was issued by Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday this week. Anyone going inside the property who shouldn’t be there can be arrested.
